It’s worth the trip to San Antonio to sample some of the best cuisine available, and perhaps celebrate an anniversary or birthday or just get away for a little romance.

Restaurant Week (now called Culinaria, it seems) used to be over my birthday, but this year it’s a week earlier, Aug. 18 – 25th. Darn. Twenty minutes of eye-popping sky explosions will light up the night at our beloved HemisFair Park and will be visible for miles. There will be live music, food, drinks and activities.

The Inn is in a position to be surrounded by fireworks, as Woodlawn Park will also have fireworks and if Ft. Sam has them, these are also visible from the Inn. Combine the holiday with a romantic getaway and you will be seeing fireworks all night. :-) We still have availability, so come on in and make this a memorable Fourth of July!

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, it’s the biggest, longest party of the year. Events have already begun and there are many more to come. The River Parade was Monday night. The Battle of the Flowers parade on Friday, April 27 means the kids get a day off of school. NIOSA (Night in Old San Antonio) began on Tuesday and will continue throughout the week. And the Fiesta Flambeau Parade is the largest illuminated parade in the nation.
