San Antonio has become a culinary mecca. We’ll start you off right in the morning at the Inn, and then you can finish your day at one of the many fabulous restaurants in our area. In this section I’ll share some of those places with you as well as talk about things we’re “cooking up” at the Inn.

We often get very nice thank you notes from our guests, and this creative one was left by Saturday’s wedding couple. Thank YOU for letting us host your wedding!
We started off a very busy wedding weekend with a wedding on Thanksgiving Day, the only day this cute young couple could get everyone together for this very special event. Congratulations to all who were married on this holiday weekend!
Wow — this weekend was crazy busy around San Antonio and at the inn. We had weddings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and then the Rock and Roll Marathon on Sunday, which goes down Main Ave, right at our corner. Congratulations to those who participated in the event — we got tired just watching you run!
There is a restaurant on McCullough that was constructed just after we bought the inn, a beautiful building with a lovely patio/ bar as well as fashionably decorated dining areas. It started out as an Italian restaurant, but has changed hands and decor several times since then, sporting different names and menus, and at one time was even a French bistro. But now the restaurant is considered to be New American, with strong French and Italian influences, a match made in heaven for my Italian husband and for me, the former French professor and Francophile.
The new name? Tribeca di Olmos. A delightful place to relax, have a glass of wine in the lounge or enjoy a delicious dinner. And Jean-Francois is the most gracious French host you will ever find. The best part for us is that the kitchen is open later than most places and happy hour begins at 9:00 with half price pizza and a fabulous Caesar salad that is actually lightly grilled, adding a surprising new flavor to an old American staple. To add to the enticement, we can get a reasonably-priced glass of French wine, which is not easy to find in Texas. We suggest you check it out and tell them Gregg and Kelly sent you (if you don’t see us there)! http://www.tribecadiolmos.com/
Fast approaching the Battle of the Flowers parade on Friday. We’re booked up that night but we do have a room available on Saturday night and the Hildebrand Room is available for Saturday and Sunday. So come on down for some Fiesta fun and activities.
Hopefully everyone has had a good summer and fall brings you many blessings! With fall comes the opportunity to participate in more outdoor activities in San Antonio. Check out the Botanical Gardens, the many new walking trailss in our city parks, the Japanese Sunken Gardens, the zoo, new restaurants/shops at the Pearl Brewery, and the new exhibit at the Witte Museum, just to name a few right around our area.
Come relax at the Inn and the enjoy fall weather!
